Wandering and Safety Concerns for the Alzheimer’s Patient

86,000 Marylanders are living with memory problems. This session will discuss early warning signs of mem-ory impairment, strategies to ensure safety in the home, meaning and pre-vention of wandering behaviors, and ideas for deescalating challenging situations to support Frederick County families to remain independ-ent for as long as possible.

How to Protect Your Medicines at Home and in Long Term Care Facilities

The abuse of prescription medication is more wide spread than the abuse of traditional street drugs. Approximately 7.5 million people abuse prescription drugs. Pain medications known as Opioids are at an all-time high for di-version. This session will cover how to protect your own personal prescription medicines from abuse while protecting your loved ones.

There has been a significant in-crease in the number of families receiving services due to hoarding behaviors. This session will cover the reasons behind hoarding and the issues and challenges families and professionals face when trying to assist a hoarder.
