Is a Veteran’s condo exempt?

Veteran moved into an assisted living facility.  However, the veteran’s child contracted with a Realtor and placed the condo for sale. 

The condo is exempt as an asset (if the primary residence) until it is sold, at which time it will become a conversion of assets.
