National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC) Capitol Hill Briefing on the Need to Strengthen and Restore Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Capitol Hill briefing to learn about soon-to-be-introduced legislation, the SSI
Restoration Act, that will provide needed updates to the SSI program and
restore SSI to what it was originally intended to do. SSI is an income support
program that currently helps provide minimal economic security to 8 million
people, including 2 million older adults and 6 million younger people with
serious disabilities. However, important aspects of the program have not been
updated in 40 years.
