How Minnesota Fails Its Residents with Disabilities

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is running a five-part expose on Minnesota’s massive failures respecting persons with disabilities living in the state. The articles address sheltered workshops, abuse and neglect in the group-home system, years-long waiting lists for waivered services, and other problems. Despite its general reputation as a progressive state regarding social services, its statistics relating to quality of life for the disabled are among the worst in the nation.
